TLI provides assistance where stream permitting is required for construction work proposed in close proximity to waterways. Most of the permitting is associated with the Joint Application Permit, which is reviewed by various agencies.

The permit name and corresponding agency for that particular permit are:

  • Section 10 Permit – Federal Rivers & Harbor Act Permit
  • SPA 124 Permit – Montana Stream Protection Act Permit
  • 310 Permit – Montana Natural Streambed & Land Preservation Act Permit
    • Issued by the location conservation district
  • 318 Authorization Permit – Short-term water quality standard for turbidity
  • Section 404 Permit – Federal Clean Water Act Permit
  • Lake Shore Permitting
    • Issued by local jurisdictions
